Course and reflections
Sales marketing
Sales Management (MKTG 4133 A) was a class I took last semester and of course due to Covid-19, it was all virtual. Since I am a double major this sales management class was one I thought that could teach me a lot. The major project we worked on throughout was a virtual simulation that gave us the opportunity to run a virtual business where we could determine our salespeople, the regions they had control over, and we could change the number of units to produce and what price to sell them at in order to achieve maximum profit. As well as weekly reports detailing what changes we made to our simulation and why. This project gave really great insight into how much detail goes into a sales position. The professor also scheduled guest speakers in sales position’s and they gave us all great information about their day to day activities.

Principles of Corporate Finance
Principles of Corporate Finance (FINC 3131 B) was also this past semester but was a hybrid class. Which, for someone like me who likes in person learning, was a good mix. Professor Pham was an excellent teacher and made sure to explain everything in detail. There was no major projects in this class but she made sure we had all the tools necessary to succeed. Her class was taught for more application use than memory, meaning she wanted us to know how to apply what she gave us in the real world. Like evaluation of stocks, future value, present value among others. I feel confident after taking this class I can identify good investments based of her class.

Environmental Bio
Environmental Bio (BIOL 1230 C) was also a hybrid class I took in the spring and truthfully before the semester began I had no desire to take the class. But after the class ended, I was glad I did. The professor gave us real world application for real world problems. One issue in particular that stood out to me was the water use and waste in our country. More specifically the food we eat and how much water is needed to produce chicken, beef, turkey, etc. It really made me away of how much I personally was wasting just off my diet alone and gave me better alternatives so I could do my part to save water.

Principles of Marketing
Principles of Marketing (MKTG 3131 D) was a fully in person class and a class that was mostly comprised of the final project due at the end of the semester. While there were other grades in the course, it was stressful to have so much of your grade depending on one final project. But it taught me to work a little bit at a time, to do a page or two a week made it much easier to focus on other assignments. The project was for us to choose a business and perform a SWAT analysis on it. It taught me how to analyze business strengths and weakness, which to me is valuable since I plan on starting my own business after graduation

Principles of Accounting 1
Principles of Accounting 1 (ACCT 2101 E) man I hated this class. I am in no way a numbers guy, which is why I chose a marketing as my major. The course had a bit larger of a work load than previous classes and I always had a hard time with the calculations involved. But I will say that the information I learned in this class are applicable to almost every part of business. And since I do plan on starting my own business, being able to prepare my own financial statements. And the excel project at the end of the semester was a great example of how to prepare financial statements, link numbers and perform calculations necessary in preparing the statements.
