A Man and a Woman working together

Plans and Goals

When I began my college experience. I had no clue of what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be. The only thing I wanted to do back then was play sports, and i was stubborn enough to think it would last forever. But like all things it does not. Once I realized my athletic days were behind me I decided to focus on my education. Which is why I transferred to Georgia Southern University
Now it still took me some time to even figure out what I wanted to do when I got here. But over time and talking to parents and friends I decided to stick with my passion, sports. So that is what I decided to focus on, more specifically, mental health within sports. As a former college athlete it was hard to come to grips that I would never suit up again, I struggled with my identity among other things. And this is the type of things I want to address and tackle in my career.
Men in sports are expected to be tough, hardcore, passionate and hard working. Well its great to be those things, but it is also ok not to be ok. And these are the type of discussions I would like to see more of across all professional sports.
To give a more concrete example, I have a goal for the Braves to start a Mental Health Monday, or something similar where we can have real athletes talk about things going on with them like their insecurities, fears, etc. This will get others more comfortable with talking about how they are truly feeling. And the plan is to get all major teams in Atlanta to join!
